Although it is hard to see in this photo, the inlay is done with gold mother of pearl. I designed the leaf inlay
by looking for photos of real leaves on the internet. The inlays are hand-cut from pearl blanks I purchased from
First Quality. My oldest daughter is named Autumn, and I designed the banjo to be autumn-like: darker woods like
mahogany and cherry, gold MOP, the leaf motif inlay. The peghead shape is my own design as well. The fingerboard
is bound with grained ivoroid. Maybe, one day, she will pass this banjo down to her children.
