The ash gives the neck a certain Louisville Sluggerish charm. The shaping of the neck produces interesting grain
patterns, almost a backstrap effect below the handstop. I have yet to put a finish on this neck, and the neck between
the nut and the fifth fret has taken on the patina of a well-used hammer. Clawhammer, that is.;-)
